Rugman (Anthony McEwan) - About the artist
Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Rugman loved creating artwork from an early age. Heavily influenced by comics such as 2000AD and various marvel titles as well as a passion for skateboard art and surf culture, he knew that he wanted to be an artist when he grew up!

As a young adult he moved to London to study at Chelsea Art School where he realised his passion for putting his artwork on t-shirts. From this point on he successfully worked in the fashion industry creating artwork for brands such as Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Vans. This enabled him to live and work in various cultural centres around the world and helped to expand his creative experience and skills.

Alongside working in the fashion industry and creating his own clothing brands, he has moved into the art world creating his own works and participating in live art events (such as Cans festival). He has also exhibited in respected galleries worldwide. He has shown with the likes of Saatchi Gallery, Pure Evil Gallery, Buster & Punch, Corey Helford and Jealous Gallery to name a few.

Rugmans work is often figurative and features tattoo art and iconography. He also has a penchant for motorcycle art and stylised helmets. His works are instantly recognisable and much loved and owned by the great and the good!
