Ben Slow - About the artist
Born in 1984 in Southeast London, Ben Slow grew up in Kent. After completing a Fine Arts degree from the University for the Creative Arts Canterbury, Slow moved to London where he took a job as an image librarian. He then stopped painting for a several years. Thankfully however, the combination of a lack lustre day job and being surrounded by the vibrant East London street art culture lead Slow to pick up his paints again. With fresh vigour and an interest of bringing fine art to the streets, his early outdoor pieces included famous people such as Twiggy and Audrey Hepburn.

Through his experiences in the street he became more interested in local characters who had a story to tell. One of his most famous pieces for example was an old man called Charlie (since deceased RIP), painted in Bacon Street, who ran a charity and lived in that same road his whole life. Slow’s work focuses mainly around portraiture although he experiments with various techniques. He has a light touch giving each piece real character and soul. He’s had numerous successful gallery shows and painted around the world. Ben Slow’s work is becoming increasingly collectible and is guaranteed to bring life and intrigue to any wall!
